I was in Holland Village at around 11pm last night, when me and my friends saw two naked people walking towards us near NYDC!

One was a tall Caucasian man, and the other a petite woman who looked Japanese. They both had footwear on, and the girl was wearing a slingbag, but other than that, they were completely nude!

They looked really comfortable walking down the street, which led to many curious stares. Interestingly enough, the couple walked towards 7-11, and must have made their way around the entire Holland V, because they eventually appeared again near Wala Wala!

They stopped at one of the tables to chat with a group of people and were still naked! Even when a crowd gathered and some people started taking photos, they didn't bother to cover their private parts or run away.

Minutes later, they put their clothes back on, and left the area to walk towards 7-11 again. Quite a few people in the crowd cheered them on, and the girl even waved back haha.

Very very unforgettable sight which I took a few photos of. Shall post one censored one here =p

The couple was arrested on that night.

I hope they'll only be fined and not have to go to jail.

Cool! Finally something exciting in SG! Ya, hope they just get a warning or a small fine. SG should loosen up a bit, some harmless fun doesnt hurt anyone!!

Can't believe people actually called the police! These people got no sense of humor...

It's not that I advocate streaking but we are just too serious about things.

I was surprised to see my quotes being published in TODAY newspaper.

But I was even more surprised to see my photo being used without any attribution to me. This is very unprofessional of TODAY, and I wonder if I can do anything to get any form of compensation.

Waah! that's bad. Hmmm are there other newspaper or internet sites that may have asked to use your material that TODAY is a part of? But then again, I think they should inform you that they may also use your material with their other newspaper/site. Maybe give TODAY a call today and let them know you were pissed off. This is just my idea

Nope. I don't work for the government. As for "moral police", I am entitled to my right and legal protection as a citizen. They are exhibiting themselves in public, and I am being embarrassed.

That aside those two, especially the woman, surely looks much better with clothes on.

with all due respect, what are you protected against? is a little public nudity detrimental to your existence? you've completely internalised the values of the state to have such a vehement reaction to this.

what's with the "Now it is nudity, next it will be copulation in public" argument? perhaps the police should also arrest and jail jaywalkers based on that; "now jaywalking, next it will be arson."

i do agree with you, from what i'm able to see, that the woman might look better with clothes on. but a little nudity wouldn't hurt anyone. perhaps you should get out of this country more.

With all due respect, if a sling bag and some pubic hairs to cover up your body is "a little nudity" to you, then what is "a lot nudity" to you?

Call me a toad in an island who never had the chance to live like an expat and to learn some western values. Call me a catholic or muslim with Asian values who might not like to walk in Holland village with children who wouldn't understand what they are seeing. On how such a place has been turned into naturism park and nude beach without a public notification.

I've lived among those who practise naturism in Europe. And they have designated place or at least places close to nature for such things. They even have clubs and I was a paying member!

What I hope:

I hope the caucasian guy is an expat who will be barred from coming in again so that he and his SPG partner can do their crap elsewhere. We don't need brainless people here...and no..Singapore is not less exciting..it's just that personally you guys who think its boring here are boring! :P

where have i implied singapore would only be exciting with nude people parading the streets? i'm just saying we ought to take ourselves a little less seriously sometimes; appreciate a little spontaneity; be amused rather than start moralizing based on 'asian values'. what are 'asian values' anyway? how different are 'asian' values compared to 'western' ones?
