Default problem with current job

I had problems with colleague in the current company, this colleague will call me by names and which normally people don't like to hear. And she always giving me a attitude problem and talk to me in a attitude which i don't like it at all and i always talk to her in a nice tone.

What does it means? means that i have to look for another job and resign? As i have been looking around for jobs and even send resume to one recruitment agency but till now there's no reply from the recruitment agency. I really can't stand the colleague's attitude problem even though i know in a company will have lots of office politics.

I just want to know whether is it a wise choice to change job in year 2012 as i heard next year will be a bad recession, is it true?

If you love this job and company, then IMO I think it would be a big pity to leave this company just because of one person...
Completely not worth it.

Have you personally confronted this colleague of yours regarding this matter?

If you have confronted this colleague personally and this issue still persist then its time to bring this matter to your supervisor / manager to handle this matter...
Most companies / mgmt are quite against racism, or office bullies. Because it hurts the staffs' moral, affects their moods and eventually lead to inefficiency and reduced productivity...

If matter still persist after your direct superior has stepped in, bring it up to HR director or the boss

I tried to ignore the person what she saying but is just that gets too much. the only good thing about this company is the working location, working hours, salary wise not that good but now i don't talk to other colleagues anymore.

i did ask my boss and she said that to tell the person about it but i think she knows whom i'm talking about. dis colleague always likes to complain about a lot of things which i have done and when i do things, she didn't even see and just anyhow said that i didn't check, etc.

I already tried my best in doing the things but she still manage to find trouble with me and one day never say anything about me, as if she like not comfortable with it.

why nv talk to other colleagues?! Its important to have good rapport with them, as they can be a good source of moral support during moody times at work

since your boss has already suggested the same thing, discuss this matter with this female colleague of yours

Perhaps another thing to ask her is her work expectation and work ethics, because no two people are identical. It might be a case that you are not "up to her expectations", which could be one of the factors it seems like she is "picking" on you...

All the best and hope things work out fine

Hi Jennessa,

A slowdown is expected next year, however, in case you're not able to resolve this situation and do find another job you like, you could certainly consider making a switch.

Here are a few relevant articles from our website, which I think you'll find useful:

I hope things work out for you. All the best!
